Boyd to chair Electronics Alliance

Derek Boyd, CEO of the National Microelectronics Institute (NMI) has been elected as Chairman of the UK Electronics Alliance (UKEA). Formed in 2006, the UKEA is a grouping of the major trade associations within the electronics
sector. Boyd replaces Ashley Evans who becomes CEO of the Electronics Knowledge Transfer Network (Electronics KTN).

Speaking of his appointment, Boyd said, “The UKEA has proved its worth in a very short space of time and I’m proud to take up the Chair. The Alliance provides a tremendous platform for reviewing the common problems and
opportunities faced by all sectors of the electronics community – not just microelectronics - and there’s a real power to its collective voice.”
